Once upon a time there lived a milk man named ramu in a village of rajastan.he had some cows and buffaloes.everymorning ramu used to take the milk in a big pot.he passed by a river.ramu would take water from the river and fill up the half filled pot.then he would go to the bazaar and sell milk.after selling the milk he would stop at the river ,wash the milk pot and count the earnings of the day.on the bank of the river,there was A banyan tree.some monkeys lived there.one aged monkey used to watch the activities of the milkman closely.he was surprised at the milkman's conduct and he decided to teach him a lesson.at noon ,the milkman stopped there as usual ,kept his bag and belongings near the tree and took the pot for washing it in the river.the old monkey had been waiting for such a moment he came down ,took the bag and climbed up the tree.after washing the pot,the milkman returned.he found his bag missing.the bag contained all his earnings.helooked here and there.he saw on the top of the tree an old monkey holding his bag firmly and smiling mischievously.the milk man begged him to rturn the bag but to no avail.the milk man shouted,threw stones at him but the monkey clambered from branch to branch.the monkey gave him half ,and threw the other half of the money into the river.the milk man became very desperate.he remembered the saying 'MILK FOR MILK AND WATER FOR WATER'.he deserved only half ,the rest belonged to the river.he left the place in great despair
